Franklin Porcelain Game Birds Plate

In 1979, Franklin Porcelain began production of a set of 12 plates entitled Gamebirds of the World. I am selling one complete set here, with the plates listed idividually.

Each plate is in its original packaging, complete with information leaflet in German! There are some additional documents that apply to the complete set. I will supply these documents to anyone buying the complete set (how to care for the plates, etc), but otherwise, I can only send copies of those documents.

The plates are made by Haviland of Limoges. The Haviland company began operations in 1842, and has been producing porcelain ever since. It continues to produce high quality porcelain to this day.

The artist is Basil Ede. He was born in Britain in 1931, and began exhibiting as an artist in the late 1950s. He has established himself as one of the foremost artists for avian and wildlife subjects, so it is not surprising that it is his work that was chosen by Franklin Porcelain for this series of plates

This plate shows the Chinese Ringnecked Pheasant.
